If you follow Pinterest, it’s easy to see what’s the mini-trend of the moment or the broader decor trend of the year. If you’re not on Pinterest, you might be on Instagram. That social media platform has become huge for interior design inspiration. There are even some people that influence in this area on Instagram. They keep their followers up to date with the latest trends, ensuring that their followers can then decorate their homes accordingly. Perhaps it’s worth following some of these interior-based Instagram accounts. Currently, a lot of them tend to use an instagram manager to help them grow their accounts, gaining real followers along the way. This helps these accounts grow, ensuring that more people can find them and follow their tips. If you’re decorating your home, it might be worth heading over to Instagram or Pinterest to see some of the latest interior trends.
Beginning at the front door, this year we’re seeing how important color is in our lives, fashion, and homes. All the front door colors above eye-catching, but we’re especially fond of Blackberry, Galapagos and Black Walnut. You’ll find other color-related trends and much more below.
Interesting Interior Doors
From the exterior doors above, we turn to fabulous interior doors. We are captivated by the hallway in a historic Dutch farmhouse and its reclaimed doors. This concept would be beautiful in a contemporary home–imagine the contrast.
Here’s a great new take on the popular barn door. Glass panes add an awesome accent we don’t often see in these doors.
A Perfect Match: Black With Pastels
Have you noticed how black accents take pastel colors to another level? The use of soft colours is one of the big furniture trends in Miami this year, and I absolutely love the look created when you pair them with black. Here you see a Rose Quartz bath with black accents. Serenity Blue would be a great alternative on the walls of this bath, as would buttery yellow. Black gives pastels a more sophisticated look.
Surprise Me!
One of our favorite trends is adding a twist to contemporary, modern or traditional rooms. We are charmed by this oversized metal sculpture. Who wouldn’t love a massive rooster on the dining table? If you are experienced using a metal grinding tool and are talented in metal fabrication, it would be possible to create something like this yourself as a DIY project. You could then make something a bit more personal to you or your home, as well. Don’t worry if metal fabrication isn’t your thing though, there are plenty of items that you can purchase similar to this.
Dipped Furniture
Dipped furniture is one of our favorite mini-trends. Here the top and base are dipped in white paint, while most of the legs are left bare.
Here is a more expected dipped look–the lower part of the legs are dipped into white paint white the seat and upper legs are finished in clear coat. Did you catch a glimpse of another dipped piece in the bath?
Living Plants
Perhaps potted plants are not exactly a 2016 trend since they have become part of our interior decor over the years. But, living plants do seem to be showing up in room images in all sorts of rooms, from contemporary to traditional and eclectic.
Who can resist the iconic look of a single large Fiddle Leaf Fig? (Did you notice the unusual take on a small dipped table?)
