Outdoor Furniture: Porch Swings & Gliders

January 7, 2016 by Joanna

Porch Swing and Glider

A new porch swing or glider would go perfect with a brand new house or garden renovation such as Hillsboro landscape design service, where new furniture would complement all the new design features you have added to your house. Whether you’re a fan of traditional wrought iron swings and gliders or the look of Mid-Century modern styles always catch your eye, there is a design that’s just right for your porch, patio, or garden. Do make sure you have a nice updated patio and outdoor hardscape materials to match though. You can find plenty of online sites to help you pick these out and browse their paving here, online, so you know exactly what you want! And they need to support the weight of these furniture items, especially a wrought iron swing! Also, if you have an indoor porch with a door leading into it then a glass door canopy could be a great idea to keep you dry when you’re getting into your house on a rainy day and additionally add an extra level of design to your home. You could perhaps try this type of canopy and see how much it improves the overall aesthetics of your home. Of course, if you have an outdoor porch then our outdoor furniture material of choice is always wrought iron because of its beauty and durability. It’s what we do after all. Today, we’re sharing lots of styles and materials–wrought iron and others.

I am restoring a metal swing that looks identical to the pink yard swing featured on this page. I took photos of the swing before disassembly but my phone died and I lost the photos. Would it be possible to get photos of the pink swing from the back and bottom? There is a turn buckle used on the bottom of the swing but I’m not certain how it connects. There’s also two support rods that either go on the bottom or back of the swing. I’m having some issues trying to figure out how to reinstall these supports. Thanks in advance.

      Hi Kevin,

Unfortunately the image of the swings are outsourced. We found the one you referenced on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/weezytam/swings-favorite-things/.

Best of luck with your swing restoration!
